In this course you will learn about the ecological impacts of the most commonly used fibres and fabrics and how you can reduce your impact through sourcing more sustainable alternatives.

Discover the certifications available for different fibres and materials
Learn about the complexities and opportunities in relation to sourcing more sustainable fibres and fabrics
Course structure:
You will receive five emails with resources, guidance and tools over five weeks:
MODULE 1: Fibre to fabric guides
Gain an overview of the impacts of commonly used fabrics and discover the certifications and toolkits that can help you to source more sustainably.
MODULE 2: Fashion’s environmental impact
Explore the environmental impact of fibres including microplastic pollution and learn about the latest innovative sustainable synthetics on the market.
MODULE 3: Sustainable cotton sourcing
Discover how leading brands source more sustainable cotton and get an overview of the leading sustainable cotton initiatives.
MODULE 4: Fabric innovation
Get up to speed with the latest sustainable innovations in fabrics including cellulosics made from food waste and lab grown biofabrics.
WEEK 5: Take the test
Test your knowledge through our online quiz.
Take the test:
In week five of the course you will be asked to complete a brief quiz to test your knowledge and understanding of sustainable fibres and fabrics. Successful completion of the quiz will earn you a CO Credit. Your CO Credit Training badge will be displayed on your CO profile and any business you are associated with on Common Objective within 1 week of successfully completing the course.
