Bandhani (translates to “tie” or “binding” in English), native to Rajasthan and Gujarat, is created through thousands of tiny hand-tied knots that resist dye to form intricate motifs. Each fabric is folded, bound, and dyed in layers, transforming cloth into a landscape of dots, rhythm, and movement. The process is deeply meditative, guided by memory and inherited skill passed from mother to daughter.

The objective was not to replicate heritage, but to collaborate with it allowing traditional techniques to inform modern aesthetics and global market relevance.
