Living Wages: Why Has Progress Stalled?

No notable fashion brand is currently paying all the workers in their supply chain a living wage. So why has progress stalled? We take a look at the current state of play and the key sticking points.

What is the current state of play?

According to Fashion Revolutions 2022 Transparency Index, 27 percent of the 250 brands surveyed in their annual report published an approach to living wage for supply chain workers. However, the report also found that 94 percent of brands surveyed did not publish progress towards achieving a living wage and 96 percent did not publish data on how many of the workers in their supply chains are paid a living wage.
