Innovation in Cellulosic Fibres

Wood-based pulps have dominated the cellulosic fibre sector (viscose rayon, lyocell, modal) but fibres produced from everyday items such as milk, orange and coffee are also yielding some interesting results.

In theory, fibres for making fabric can be produced from any cellulose or protein source. Various developers around the world have been testing that thesis, and some are already collaborating with designers and clothing manufacturers.
