The pattern of trade for the fashion industry is incredibly complex and constantly changing. Trade data is also difficult to interpret and draw conclusions from, not least because of how imports and exports are catalogued. Using the UN Comtrade international trade statistics database, this piece aims to unpick the complexities to give a broad understanding of the major trade flows in fashion supply chains.
