We hear from Shourove Ansari, coordinating director of BaSE, a social enterprise specialising in handicraft products how they have achieved financial success and successfully supported thousands of women artisans in Bangladesh.

How does your business model work? And what makes you different? 

We at BaSE are a not-for-profit Social Business Fair Trade organisation. We co-ordinate and promote the handicraft products of various women's manufacturing groups. We produce various types of handmade items such as date palm leaf and jute basketry, jute macramĂ©, nakshi hand embroidery, womenswear and accessories.
