Climate Action Training++ (CAT++) provides practical, step-by-step guidance to help you take meaningful climate action. Designed for textile and footwear manufacturers, the course covers GHG accounting, target setting, energy efficiency, and renewable energy – equipping you with the tools to measure, report, and reduce emissions while strengthening your business.
CAT++ is structured into 5 modules followed by a short quiz. Completing the quiz earns you a CO Credit, displayed on your personal and business profile. Any business you are linked to on CO will also gain a boost to its search rankings.

Course outline:
In this course you will learn how to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across textile and footwear supply chains.
Course outcomes:
- Understand the basics of GHG accounting, including Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
- Gain knowledge of global climate initiatives such as SBTi and MCAP.
- Learn how to set ambitious yet achievable GHG reduction targets.
- Explore renewable energy and energy efficiency options relevant to manufacturing facilities.
- Access tools, slides, and practical exercises to apply learning directly in your facility.
Course structure:
MODULE 1: Introduction to CAT++
Learn about the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the Manufacturer Climate Action Programme (MCAP), and GHG management within Higg FEM 4.0.
MODULE 2: GHG Accounting (Part 1)
Get an introduction to GHG accounting principles and procedures, including operational boundaries, activity data, and hands-on accounting exercises.
MODULE 3: GHG Accounting (Part 2)
Continue your GHG accounting journey with focus on Scope 1 & 2 emissions, uncertainty management, and preparing compliant GHG inventory reports.
MODULE 4: Target Setting
Learn how to establish a GHG baseline, explore different types of reduction targets, and build an action plan aligned with Cascale’s decarbonisation programme.
MODULE 5: Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy
Discover practical solutions for facility-level decarbonisation through energy efficiency measures, solar power, and biomass fuel options.
Take the quiz
At the end of the course, you’ll complete a short quiz to test your knowledge of climate action in the textile and footwear industry. Successful completion earns you a CO Credit.
